Primary Resources

Bolster resources include links provided by three partner organizations, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Mental Health America (MHA), and the National Institute on Mental Illness. To learn more about each of these organizations, you can click the main links below, or specific pages in the following sections. 

Mental Health America (MHA) 
Mental Health America is the nation’s oldest advocacy organization and is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing symptoms of mental illness and their families.  

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is a grassroots organization of people with lived experience, family members, clinicians, and advocates aiming to improve the lives of people experiencing mental illness.   

National Institute on Mental Health (NIMH) 
The National Institute of Mental Health is one of the National Institutes of Health in the US Department of Health and Human Services. NIMH supports research and other initiatives aiming to better understand mental illnesses and improve services for individuals who experience them.

These resources provide overview information about the symptoms of psychosis, its prognosis, and the conditions that can cause it.

Written for an audience of individuals who are experiencing psychosis themselves, this MHA page provides introductory information for those who might be seeking information or treatment for the first time.

NIMH provides the following pages with straightforward information about symptoms of psychosis, treatments, and how to find help. 
 

Young Adults | NAMI
This page provides information about recognizing mental health symptoms, how to seek help, insurance, and talking about mental health symptoms, and is aimed towards young adults.
